It is pretty obvious that he decided that, if he couldn't have the publicity, he'd rather pass on it altogether. One gets the sense he feels the same about the military as Bill Clinton does -- he "loathes" it. I do know they feel that way about him. Your conclusion is obvious only to you only because you are extremely partisan. To the rest of us, Obama's change in plans was a minor scheduling problem.
