Peter or Jeffrey Citron, could you please comment on Vet's experience:

Only yesterday it happened to me on a buy of FONR. The bid showed my price as it was on Island but the MM kept putting through trades at 1/16 and 1/32 lower than my bid which showed up as the last sale. He traded a considerable volume this way. This continued for about an hour until eventually he filled my buy when the price moved up significantly. When I first placed the buy my bid was equal to the ask, but he immediately pushed the ask up 1/32 to make sure that I was "inside" the spread...
