How does solar thermal power generate power at night and on cloudy days? This implies they operate 90% of the time:

It heats a (large) tank of highly salted water which retains it's heat and which is used to turn turbines which produce electricity. They also say they are fairly efficient (although less so) on cloudy days... which don't happen that often in the desert.
