CJ and I are wrong even when the general who is in charge says the same thing.
The general who engineered the surge most definitely believes the surge, more than the other factors, is responsible for the win in Iraq.
Of course, the liberals haven't wanted to admit it at all, because you have been proven wrong. In 09/07, Durbin said, "By carefully manipulating the statistics, the Bush-Petraeus report will try to persuade us that violence in Iraq is decreasing and thus the surge is working. Even if the figures were right, the conclusion is wrong." So, damn the facts, what liberals say is right.
In August, 07, before it was so evident in the statistics, Petraeus concluded it had worked: "David Petraeus, the top US commander in Iraq, said the build-up of American forces in Baghdad since late January had produced positive outcomes. These included the killing or capture of al-Qa'ida fighters, causing the terrorist group to lose influence with local Sunnis." You don't hear him credited other factors.
You people are trying to revise history before the making of it is even complete. That the sorry Left, including Obama, will not even credit our troops with the hard work they've done is maybe the most anti-American behavior I've seen in my lifetime. I consider it treason.
And tejerk, you, Fowler, Pondscum, and other liberals on this thread are the most treacherous traitors of them all. |
