Not true. Leading on alternative energy is a way to capture the lion's share of the coming massive market. Following only after foreign companies have invented everything is a way to ensure Americans of future generations have a lower standard of living today, because the engines of economic growth will be elsewhere. We aren't competitive just because we say we are. We have to remain competitive globally by using our technological prowess to change the game just when other countries are figuring out our last generation of technology.
