If citizens called their Democrat congressional reps and demanded a vote be taken yea or nay on offshore drilling, Pelosi would be forced to take that step. She controls her sheep as long as their constituents are quiet--flood of calls from voters back home and Ms Pelosi will find rebellion in her ranks. Her worst nightmare is the lifting of the drilling ban which would trigger a dramatic slide in gas prices. Dems are hoping frustration felt at the pumps will whisk Obama into the White House. Judging from recent polls, not even $4gal gasoline can accomplish that feat.
