Just bought another big slug of Ford here. Markets seem to have already forgotten that Ford and GM both unloaded most of their employee retirement obligations onto the unions earlier this year. They took massive financial hits to do it but if they survive to the unload time, which is likely, both their earnings are going to take off. I particularly like the actions Ford is taking right now.

Personally think the Unions got reamed in the deal. I don't see how they will be able to deliver on their contractual obligations, and they will be driven into bankruptcy by their retired members.

Short term the outlook for all three American automakers definitely looks grim. Longer term I expect to clean up on the long side. IMO They are EASY doubles in 3 years, even if we go into deep recession. I will keep accumulating if they go down, unless the situation deteriorates markedly.
