To all CTI & DLGC Newbies. This industry is extremely difficult to understand and even more difficult to estimate market, product; and market share growth rates. Consequently, Dialogic is extremely volatile. I have been long this company 3 years. This has been an incredable experience and wild ride. Don't invest in this company unless you are prepared to see a 50% decline on your brokerage statement and be confident that it will bounce back 150% over the subsequent 18 months.

I would suggest you go back on this thread and read some of my posts to better understand this beast! It is probably true you will extract an above average return by buying and holding Dialogic over the next 3 years. However, as my prior posts reflect Dialing for Dollars will send you soul searching more times than once over the next 3 years. Read my posts and keep the faith, and I will help you confront the business questions. However, I can't help you with normal volatility questions as volatility is par for this course.

*****************Off Topic****************************************

Ascend Communications was strong today in an extremely ugly market. I currently have a full position and have heard "rumers" of a Lucent takeover. I currently have a strong buy on ASND with a $50 18 month target or 25X cal 1999 eps of $2.00. Any takeover would be icing on the cake. Also, I'm putting a strong buy on Rational Software (RATL) for the patient investor. I'm using a $20 2 year target
for appreciation potential of 100%. I have a 1/2 position in Rational currently and will round out next week. I am long all of the above issues and they are all extremely risky as you will see in their charts.

Happy Investing,

Jay
