But society owes it to all of these AIDS infected people who took personal risks------of course, NOT.

This is one subject that I really get angry about:

1. If I haven't told the story about the doctor who died in Northern Virginia because he contracted AIDS from helping an illegal who had a car accident----the guy was bleeding-----the doctor had scratches on his hands from yard work and became infected.

The illegal ended up at a major hospital in the metro area dieing of AIDS------the doctor like many doctors received hospital reports on AIDS cases. Ironically, it was the illegal that the doctor had helped. This was the clue for the doctor who was feeling fatigued to have an AIDS test done-----he wasn't gay so had no thought of AIDS when he began to feel fatigued.

This is the short story---the doctor later died----I knew the family.

2. BEWARE OF WHO SHARES A ROOM IN A MEDICAL SETTING WITH YOUR LOVED ONES

I saw my only case of AIDS I have seen in my life in a rehab center. The man had had a stroke and was in the rehab theoretically for rehabilitation. (It took about 10 days to learn that this man was gay and the head of a major gay organization and was dieing of AIDS.)

The hooker here is that the man was already in the rehab center and a friend of mine was put in the center after a knee operation for intensive physical therapy to learn to walk again. I visited daily.

Being a helpful sort I would go in and help my friend and the man with the stroke, not knowing the man with the stroke had AIDS.

I handled the gay man's clothing; carried his drinking cup (no disaposable cups used in the rehab center-----composition cups thrown in diswashers and reused----theoretically labeled with the persons name)---picking his papers off of the floor he had dropped there was the Gay Blade News, then there were the steady stream of well-dressed gay men who visited----the final clue were the HIV spots that appeared on his body).

Just as I recognzed what I was looking at------the gay man told my friend he was dieing of AIDS.

I received a panic call from my friend telling me that the man had said he had AIDS. My friend was in panic because the staff had given him the gay man's drinking cup to my friend when they put water in the cups-----again exchange of body fluids in a non-sexual way.

Rather than dwell on this--------the result is that we got my friend out of the rehab center; met with the director with witnesses and gave written notification that if either my friend, I , or others who visited were diagnosed with AIDS they would be sued. It was all very stormy.

There is justice in this world--------my friend got out, the knee healed and went back to walking a mile a day and being a productive member of society. The rehab center was cited for numerous violations and is now closed----and no doubt the gay man died of AIDS.

ESSENTIAL TO KNOW:

When you or a loved one enters a medical facility of any sort, know their policy on mixing people infected with AIDS/HIV with patients who are not infected.

Note the man with AIDS was white----his gay visitors were white. The doctor was white. The illegal who infected the doctor bronze, black whatever color from one of the African countries.

POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS I'LL LEAVE FOR ANOTHER TIME---MJ
