From a friend who works at Merrill:

part of the reason i want to leave my job is because things have gotten so out of hand about how we work and this and that, that i no longer feel like they're looking at the quality of the work i do, and are looking at little nitpicking things which mean nothing

budgets are so tight - they cut our hours down, yet they want me in at 9 on the dot, even tho they are letting people leave early. they are like nazis about us talking to each other, all this craziness ive never had to deal with becaiuse they're worried about the company going down

That person up above needs to leave his job. MER is a total mess. The deal they did on Monday to get rid of their CDO crap is being portrayed as something very positive. It ain't. If you read the fine print, MER is still on the hook for the CDOs if down the road, they turn out to be completely worthless. In effect, MER paid to get someone to take the garbage off their hands.

Having said all that, the person up above is obviously one of Gramm's American whiners that needs to be blindfolded, taken out back and shot.
