for huge numbers of city vehicles, range isn't an issue and could be resolved by swapping batteries at service stations.

We had some electric powered trucks where I work, and range of electric vehicles are so poor they are an issue for city vehicles. They are not so bad at first but the range becomes less than half for some people and after a few years what was an 80 mile range is less than 20 miles. Good idea, but the technology is not there yet.

But boy did those electric trucks go! Part of the range problem I think.
