I do largely agree with your views on all electric vehicles, however, I think they really win if PV and distributed generation take off. IMHO, that is what will win in the end. I suspect that PV efficiency is going to go much higher, because the two main problems, mismatch between photon energy and bandgap, as well as recombination loss are both in principle, subject to design innovations. How high it can go is anyones guess, but I suspect >60% will eventually become possible. At which point it all boils down to really massive semiconductor FABs and process equipment, which we can clearly do. Then everything else is going to loose. End of problem.

And yes, I'd much rather have an all electric vehicle than what we have today. It should have excellent performance and stellar reliability compared to current designs.
