McBush's campaign now admits that they lied about this. Obama was going to visit the troops with a retired general - no media - but the Pentagon said that since the retired general was part of his campaign, he couldn't go.

Obama decided to cancel the event because it was being politicized by the Republicans as a campaign stunt, even though Obama was not bring any media.

McBush's ad tells many lies, but the whopper of why he didn't go is the one they're backing off of.

Already, there is a backlash against McBush. People who liked him for his independence and honesty are taking a second look.

What worked for Bush in 2004 won't work now, because people are sick of talking about non-issues and want the damage from the Bush years to be fixed.
