The entire "tire pressure" issue is bogus. Not that underinflation won't cause reduced mileage, but it is insubstantial in amount and the it is doubtful that many people are riding around with tires unduly low anyway. The idea that, as Obama claimed, it is going to provide as much savings as the oil that could be extracted by domestic drilling, it is just liberal treehugger nonsense. This is not unlike Al Gore making claims about melting polar icecaps, etc. -- just made up crap.
