Oil will keep dropping too, because other ways of getting energy are much cheaper.

This is such a deja vu situation. We even had an article in the newspaper here about how New Zealand can use tallow as a diesel fuel. Quarter of a century ago I was running tallow ester diesel fuel trials in New Zealand for BP Oil. The article presented it as though it's a new, wonderful idea to save the country. Yawn...

I suppose anyone under age 15 at the time would have little memory of the previous oil crisis, alternative fuels and all that, so they would now be 40 years old. Anyone under 40 must be quite breathless with excitement at the whole fuels crisis. That's a LOT of people. Similarly with the Greenhouse Effect - they just discovered it in recent years.

We can expect to see oil drop to $40 a barrel again and maybe $30 [using 2008 dollars].
