PS:
From Semiconducter manufacturers and Software developers, to the Fishing industry ..... the ever present EU sniffs around:

Another delightful story on the EU's Joe BORG, and frustrated Itallian and French fishermen:

"EU Borg agrees to meet with protesting fishermen"
23 June 2008 - Issue : 787

EU Fisheries Commissioner Joe Borg said he is prepared to meet fishermen who had threatened to block Malta’s ports unless they were given an appointment with the Commissioner.

Around 300 Italian and French fishermen met outside the EU delegation’s offices in Malta to protest a ban on using purse seiner fishing for tuna.
Borg told the protestors through a representative that they would have to make a formal request before meeting them and that he was unable to meet before June 23. But a spokesman for the fishermen said they were not satisfied since the meeting needed to be held urgently, given that the fishing season was at an advanced stage.
The fishermen are insisting that because of poor weather they could only fish for a few days and have not yet achieved the fishing quota set by the EU.
