Wayne: More verbiage on short interest in TTRIF, re: posts 29, 33, 37 etc. Still trying to figure out the NASDAQ restriction on short selling in TTRIF. MM are exempt from this restriction and ostensibly its purpose is to eliminate naked short selling, and a stock is restricted when a "significant" # of shares are shorted.

Todays WSJ lists # of TTRIF shares shorted as of 8/15 @ 255,133 vs. 138,295 on 7/15--or a 84% increase over the past month. 255K is less than one days trading vol. (currently average daily vol is 256K)--hardly a "significant" short ratio! So at least for the past 2 months short selling and/or covering (by non MM) would have had a minimal effect on price or volume. Since MM short selling (almost always naked shorts) is exempt from this restriction and is NOT included in the short interest figures, there is not any way I know of to find out how many shares MM are short--or were short when prices were $3.00+. Anyway, the visible short interest is TTRIF is negligible--so there isn't a huge pool of shorts out there that will someday have to cover. Alas!

Thanks for your efforts in acquiring new info for us. Hope it isn't too onerous answering all the questions. BTW, talked to Lionel today and he seems pretty positive TTRIF will be in the black by end of calendar year 1996!
