Euro Zone Jul Mfg PMI Drops To 47.4 Vs 49.2 Jun

0803 GMT [Dow Jones] Euro zone PMI contracts for the second-straight month in July dropped to 47.4 from 49.2 in June. A PMI reading above 50 signals an expansion in manufacturing activity, while a level below 50 signals a contraction. The weak reading indicates manufacturing activity is wilting under pressure from the strong euro, the ECB's tight monetary policy stance and the oil price shock. German PMI 50.9 in July vs 52.6 in June. French July PMI 47.1 vs 49.2 a month earlier. (EMC)
