I agree, I liked the older episodes of L&O SUV much better. I'm really tired of being lectured to about social issues and I think they overdo the character flaws of supposedly upright citizens. On the other hand, you always have people like Eliot Spitzer, so who knows? I lead a sheltered life, I'm afraid. I like to think the best of people that appear to be functioning well in society.

I REALLY didn't like a rerun I saw recently where Benson went undercover in Oregon, and it turns out the ecoterrorists are the good guys and the sheriffs were the bad guys. That doesn't fit with my world view.

Even my favorite shows like NCIS are starting to veer left. It ticks me off. It's almost like the networks know what people want to watch, they produce a show that gives them that, and then skew it after it has a following to their own slanted agenda.

It took me a couple of years to warm up to Olivia. Mariska Hargitay seemed to play her too intensely for my taste. Perhaps it was deliberate, but I found it difficult to like the character.

My favorite character is Casey Novak, played by Diane Neal. I love the way she looks at person, her eyes saying without a word: "Oh really? You lying moron, what you just said is a lie and I'm going to make mincemeat out of you." I've never seen better eye contempt projected in a movie.

I like the Captain too. The ensemble way they introduce new information by the others walking in with a comment is convenient, because any one of them could say it. If they don't have one person on set they can just as easily use another.
