I am pretty sure he killed himself. No reason to suspect otherwise. But, the anthrax was used to push the message that we needed to go after Iraq. And he certainly did his part to make it seem as if Iraq was behind it. Remember the popularity of Cipro and all of the anthrax hype?

Now, it could be that he thought he could get more grants that way and the administration exploited the opportunity.

The whole thing seems strange.
