I had noticed that yogurt containers shrank to 6 ounces from 8, a 33.3% price increase, but I hadn't noticed the Unilever increase on ice cream.
I bought the 1.5 "Quarts" container of Breyer's today and then realized it used to be 1.75 Quart (and before that, it was 2 Quarts). That's a 16.7% price increase this time.
Unilever cited the price increases that aren't sticking for a sales and profit shortfall, and the stocks (UL and UN) got whacked Thursday and Friday. |
