daughter mother in law in hospital for a week now. leg in very bad shape. her cat must have lost balance on window sill and jumped to her leg to avert falling and cut deep into leg as it was sliding down using it like a pole.

She was on blood thinners , then more problems, infection set in at hospital and they loaded her up meds to fight infection a few days ago.

Now.......If the hematoma doesn't get smaller they are looking at surgery to remove it.

They had the cat for years , very quiet, and a freak accident.
