Fred thats a very reasoned post. "At the very beginning of a technology revolution" Well so was RCA in the 20's but then came the Great Depression. Economic factors tend to be more important than technology. Also there have been several studies of the impact of technology on peoples lives that have found that it was the late 19th Century when technology had its greatest impact on productivity. Intel after all isn't the only CPU manufacturer out there. Its history of technical innovation is a checkered one. They are still pretty far behind IBM. I'm not sure how essential they are to this technology revolution. Other companies can produce the products.
