He thinks you live in a shack with hounddogs on your porch and a privy out back. And your married to your cousin. He knows what the south is like.

I get the idea he hasn't been around much, other than on the West Coast.

As it turns out, my wife and I have the flexibility to move anyplace we'd like to at this point, and we've discussed it, just in terms of a "change of pace". We've batted this back and forth now for over a year, and simply haven't been able to come up with any place we'd rather be.

This place isn't perfect, of course -- but we visit a lot of places around the country and really haven't been to one we like as much. I notice we don't have nearly as many adults riding bicycles as some of the great cities around the country. (We drive cars and ride motorcycles). I'm not sure if that relates to poverty or not ;)

Of course, the toothless people running around barefoot can be a problem.
