I’m going to stick my neck out here and have my say regarding what I see happening in the world today, especially with regard to how human beings behave towards each other.
A major contributory factor to the hate and conflict between nations, religions and cultures arises from SEPARATENESS.
One country sees itself SEPARATE from another, one religion sees itself SEPARATE from another, one culture or racial group sees itself SEPARATE from another …… AND YET …..
And yet all of those groupings comprise collections of Human Beings who should not see themselves Separate from each other …. BECAUSE ….
Because WE, each of us, have to consider and contemplate WHO WE ARE and WHERE DID WE COME FROM. In fact, once each of us can answer the first question, the answer to the second falls into place.
So WHO, in essence, ARE WE ? Are we just a collections of atoms and molecules that coalesce for 60 to 80 years and then disperse , and WE then cease to exist, never to be anything ever again ?
In other words, ARE WE just our physical bodies and nothing more ?
Well, here’s my take on all of this, and where the “sticking out of a neck” begins …..
If you think about it, the creation of all that we see and know about, in the current understanding we have of our universe, must logically have had a beginning. There must have been a Central Source from which everything originated.
To come up with some sort of description or idea of the inter-relationship between the Central Source and whatever was created, I used to think of that Central Source in terms of being a very large fire or flame, and every creation that arose was as if a small flame was extracted from that larger fire. In so doing, every small flame consisted of the same properties of that larger fire. Therefore every creation from the Central Source WAS OF the Central Source in every way.
In other words, the ESSENCE of every creation is the ESSENCE of that Central Source.
What we are, in ESSENCE, made of is of the same material as is our origin. How else could it be ?
From where else could the Central Source obtain whatever was necessary to create us, other than from the Central Source itself ?
So taking that a step further, it seems that we may not be just a collection of physical atoms and molecules, but rather an ESSENCE that enters the 3-dimensional physical universe and takes on the outfit of atoms and molecules while inhabiting that universe.
Once the time comes to leave, we discard that outfit and remain our original ESSENCE.
And if each and every one of us is of the same ESSENCE, then we are UNITED in WHO and WHAT we ARE.
Therefore there should be NO SEPARATENESS between us. WE are ALL of the same SOURCE.
WE should ALL be interacting between each other in terms of the QUALITIES of the Central Source.
So how likely would it be that those QUALITIES call for hatred, destructiveness, disrespect, isolationism, and many other negative behaviours ?
No, I don’t think it does.
But we must remember that in the creation process, each was given free will. So we are all free to choose the nature and course of our actions.
And we will continue to do so until we eventually discover and determine “What Works, and What Doesn’t Work”. We can only KNOW the nature of what we would regard as GOOD when we can compare it to our experience of what we would regard as BAD.
What the Central Source gave, in the creation process, will not be taken away, because every aspect of that creation process was perfect. How else could it be if it came from that infinite Central Source ?
So free will, will remain free will in ALL that it entails. It will never be interfered with or modified.
Therefore if there is SEPARATNESS in the world, it is of our own creation. And if we created it, then we can likewise un-create it, because if the Central Source can create then so can its creations create, since they are ALL of the same ESSENCE.
We consist, in essence, of the same stuff because that was our origin.
In terms of “What Works, and What Doesn’t Work”, we have concluded, for example, that human slavery is not acceptable. At one time we thought it was acceptable, but now we don’t.
At one time certain religions burnt individuals at the stake because they did not like what they said or did. Now we don’t because we’ve determined that it’s not acceptable.
No doubt the time will come when we will conclude that killing each other in the name of any religion, country or culture is not acceptable, and not in accordance with WHO WE ARE in relation to EACH OTHER.
Therefore it will not be necessary for any country to spend billions on weapons and armaments to defend or attack.
In the USA, for example, there are the equivalent of many sports fields full of derelict and outdated military items. No doubt the same could be said for the Soviet Union and others.
Many millions of man-hours, many millions of tons of materials and resources spent on a futile and illogical exercise simply because there was some degree of SEPARATENESS providing some degree of mistrust, some degree of hatred, some degree of fear.
The Most Important question we can, and should, be asking ourselves is, “WHO AM I ?” |
