I think that Gays were wrong in copying the word marriage for their battle for equality. I have read many counter arguments opposing what I think. However, to me it would have been better to have called it a civil union...domestic partnership or another term I cannot think of. Perhaps it's the marriage bit that enrages a lot of persons to object to it.

What is basically the concern is to have all the rights that marriage grants heterosexuals. Such as being able to be on one health plan. To join clubs as a couple and not separate. To inherit the pension of the other person and social security once had a list of all of those things but lost it.

What I read in opposition is that they have the same rights.
That they can form a trust and leave property to one another.

However, they cannot get more than a two hundred fifty thousand deduction when selling their common residence. The married folks get five hundred thousand. There are man inequities that are never pointed out. And I cannot do all of them here.

Those last two issues are threatening to the status quo as it may mean more tax dollars to include them and that makes straight persons angry .. TAXES... ?????
