I really don't know what Obama's vision is for our military, but I really don't think he plans on "skeletonizing" it.

I think McCain might actually cut our military spending more than Obama would. There's a big difference between just throwing trillions at every weapons system and thousand dollar toilet seat and trying to streamline the military into a fighting force that can deal with every contingency without funding every "pork barrel" defense expenditure requested by every 2-bit congressman.

When Clinton was in office our defense budget was larger than the next HUNDRED COUNTRIES COMBINED. Today, I think it's a lot less than that because our dollar has been BUSHwacked and the Chinese and Russians and Indians and everybody else has increased their budgets significantly.

So...it looks like George W. is the guy that has really damaged our defense capabilities.
