Welcome back. I often wondered what happened to you. I hope you are well. I hope you are writing lots and lots. And your husband--is he still building boats?
You misunderstand. Mme Sybarite and I have done battle, it's true. I am trying to get more enjoyment and humor out of our relationship, such as it is.
My post was a joke, a friendly joke. I didn't look at the date on her post; it came up in a link somebody else posted. I followed the link, laughed, saw the potential for ribbing her on it, and let fly.
I've been told, and I believe it, that my humor falls flatter than a pancake left out on the street on Broadway. It's a family trait; we are the world's worst joke tellers. But we do have a good heart, and a good heart went into that post.
If you have been following my posting history over the last couple of weeks I hope you have seen a mellowing of my positions on subjects that Mme Sybarite likes to debate, or, more properly, likes to jump me on with her famous retractable talons. I haven't really changed my beliefs about what is preferable societal behavior, but allow that people have the right to be different.
The three of us, you, Mme, and MM, share similar enjoyments of life, and I would like to spend more time on those issues.
So, I'm mellowing. It's OK for friends to rib each other, isn't it? That's all it was. I will not be offended if either or both of you declare that I am no such thing of yours. I am what I am to myself. |
