WR, regulations and legislation cause "peak oil" conditions to become self-fulfilling prophecies. Of course U.S. production peaked in the 70's; we now import more oil than before, and that's thanks to bans on drilling. Don't tell me the oil industry should drill in lands they already have, unless you can tell them exactly where to drill and not be laughed out of the executive offices of the oil barrons.
