Of course allowing more drilling will help us overcome our energy problems. It will also make more jobs for Americans and help our balance of payments too.

The impact of OCS drilling will be minimal. Converting America's public car fleet to nat gas and private cars to hybrids will have a much, much bigger impact.

Which are we supposed to switch our cars to, natural gas or electricity?

The fact you have to ask me shows just how far behind the eight ball this country is thanks to a do nothing oil man for president. It is 4 years into the rising cost of oil and yet we don't have a plan. Why? Because this country's president sits in the WH and does nothing. He knows his future will be well taken care of by the oil industry.

BTW did you know the leasing ban you defend keeps a lot of natural gas off the market? See Destin Dome offshore Pensacola. Which is increasingly being burned to make electricity.

I have not defended the leasing ban except where it applies to the ANWR.

How do you justify pushing natural gas and preventing drilling for it at the same time?

Straw man.

But your company hopes to get some of those leases. That means you have a vested interest in seeing OCS drilling happening. In a more honorable world, someone in your position would excuse themselves from the discussion.

You just want to keep knowledgeable people out of the debate. That wouldn't be good for the country.

When people have an agenda like going to war in Iraq, there is a tendency to have the facts fly out the window. That's why knowledgeable people who have the ability to gain financially excuse themselves from the debate.
