You won't need to concern yourself about freezing it until near the end of the growing season. Last year I waited until the produce manager told me this was the last of the Olathe corn they would be getting. So I bot about a dozen (maybe more, can't remember) and froze them, one ear per bag. That lasted all winter and then some. I think it may have been as late as May or June when I ate the last one.
