Seems like the focus for the US will shift from operations in Iraq to operations in Waziristan, gradually (and relentlessly) trimming out the extremists and building support for gradual cultural change.

I read an article stating that the Taliban in Pakistan has recently had a bombing campaign against...Girls Schools..., blowing up over 60 in the Waziriistan area...you have to believe this will upset a good number of the locals, who may be happy to see the Taliban blown away by predator drones....much more palatable, and perhaps more effective, than bombing Iran.

To some extent it reminds me of the US western movies...it always ends badly for the outlaws, and will probably not be different in this case, just might take a decade or two...
