Barry,

Intel's TV commercials:

I have contrary opinions regarding this issue.

"Most people don't understand the "bunny suits"

Astronaut-like suits represent super high tech. These commercials are continuation of previous ones with robotic arms, microscopes, etc. "Bunny suits = high tech" idea has sunk into the minds of the public.

"The ads are VERY busy (color, sound, speed of motion)"

Color, sound, and speed of motion are exactly the subjects that are addressed in the MMX technology. In a very short amount of time, this issue is emphasized --- importance of MMX technology. Why does no one want a classic Pentium nowadays? Because of these ads which even surprised the heck out of Intel in Q1/Q2!

"There isn't much of a message to begin with"
"What little there is gets lost"

The P-II commercial introduces P-II to the public. The "II" represents another generation of technology improvement. This may get the public (at least a great crowd) to demand P-II instead of P/MMX.

The voice of the captain from "Star Trek, the Next Generation" really adds more punch towards these commercials.

John.
