US forces have already dealt with the Pashtun, and found they could pay one group of Pashtun to fight other Afghan groups.

I doubt the US Forces are trying to change their way of life, no matter what noises official Washington makes.

I also don't think the Pashtun are the most dangerous ethnic group from a military viewpoint, I expect Koreans and Turks top that list, and the Viet Namese might have a place too.

If the Pashtun can get their literacy rates up, they may become more of a threat...someday.
