Congress is basically ignorant over big picture economic theory. So when the banks say "bail us out or we're going into a depression", they accomodated. Larry King last night was a great example of political football vs informed reality. The show was over energy plans. Early on they had 2 Obama supporters, Richardson and Reich and two McCain suporters, Barber, Bachmann (R Minn). . All these bozos could do was espouse plans of their guys. A stupid and pathetic display of political football by people who were unqualified to determine anything about energy. Then they brought out T. Boone Pickens, Richard Branson, Woodward and Ed Begley Jr. These guys knew what they were talking about and offered informed opinions. You can view it here. cnn.com
