Mike,

"If G. Gordon Liddy were still active, it would look like one of his bungled ops. Poison some people to get the knuckle draggers riled about al qaida and Saddam and Iran and Korea. Then, when the al qaida story is discovered to be fake, kill the "single individual, no conspiracy here" guy so the truth can't come out."

One thing that strikes me about the guy's death is the timeliness. They announce it right at the end of the week, and most probably the last week before the vast majority of the 'A' list investigative reporters leave for their summer vacation. Masking a murder via suicide isn't such a hard thing to do either. You can even put a gun to someone's head and say, 'take these or I blow your brains out', which technically wouldn't even be murder(or would it?).

If it wasn't an honest-to-god suicide, I have to wonder if he was disposed of because he was guilty but his knowledge of some nefarious goings-on at the biological weapons lab would likely come out at a trial. Or, as you suggested, he had some involvement in a government organized campaign to terrorize the citizenry in order to make them more pliant to their ultimate post 911 goals(e.g. - Iraq).

I'd give my left you-know-what to have the background info on that social worker.
