I don't see any reason that Atom couldn't run Vista. As time goes on Vista should find its way into many Atom systems. Vista is a memory hog, but doesn't need much for CPU performance on its own. I've had my single-core Athlon 64 3800+ locked in CnQ mode at 800MHz on Vista and performance was more than acceptable for everyday tasks like email, word processing, playing mp3s, etc.
