At a first look....I was not overly excited about Obama releasing oil from the SPR. However, if done right, it can be a good move........everyone knows that certain gov'ts and companies are hoarding oil right now because of how fast the price of crude was rising. If the US released oil from its SPR, then at a minimum it would reduce the price of gas at least temporarily while at the same time setting up a trade whereby the US sells oil at a higher price and then buys a larger amount back at a lower price. Most people would consider that to be a very good trade.

The SPR is there to protect our country from a supply shutoff. Not to help liberals win elections. Even though, to date, that's all they have tried to do with it.
