OT: Sweet car (I love the 996), but I like a hardtop I can take to the track occasionally. (minus the kids, of course!).

And besides, cabs are heavy! (LOL! With that much power, I'm sure it scoots along just fine).

I make do with 240/236 hp/torque, my car was made before the horsepower wars started, and while BMW North America was convinced that the 330 hp Euro engine would not sell well here, as it would add about $10K to the price. So the USA got a larger-displacement version of the 328i motor (single VANOS), rather than the very trick double VANOS Euro motor with individual throttle bodies. Handles very well though.
