Tire pressure is hardly "low-hanging fruit." What, you think the 25% of vehicles on the road with underinflated tires is representing that much wasted oil?

Low hanging fruit means things that are easy to get at... and it's easier to get at tire pressure than oil somewhere below the bottom of the gulf.

Why not also explore more of our own oil? If it takes 10 years to get the first drop, so what? How much do you think oil will cost 10 years from now?

I agree. A lot of local folks don't. They think it will spoil the pristine gulf beaches, and hurt the economy that depends on them.

What if the oil companies drill the gulf and we do move to an alternative (probably electric) for transportation over the next 20-30 years? What happens to the oil company investments if oil goes to $20 a barrel?

I still respect Obama as a man and a politician. I don't mind if he's fights back, but he ought to prepare for a brawl. The worst thing he can do now is to let the same aura of inevitability tank his campaign as it did with Hillary.

That worries me as well. The press talks as if he is already elected. The "it's a referendum on Obama" BS. Lots of stuff can happen in 3 months. And will.
