Hey everybody, got a story for you.

Got a PM last week from someone who had taken fairly large positions in a lot of mining juniors, figuring the winners would offset the losers. Well, we know how that worked out. See the 2008 stock picking contest if you don't.

If you also follow these things, you know the spreads are brutal and the liquidity non-existent right now.

"What should I do?"

There's are no effective strategies I could recommend them. They're caught.

I think there's maybe a lot of us here in that boat. I also think the huge increase in the number of posts here is because we still are here. I think people are seeking solace of some kind, but the only course of action I can recommend right now is to hide in cash. Not so easy if you're sitting on big paper losses in something.

In good markets, everybody can be your friend, but in bad, we need to be personally ruthless, but also extremely forgiving of others. And don't think you'll solve anything by becoming a dickhead. If you're losing money (and I think most of us are), suck it up and do something about it if you can.

Time to stick together and maybe we'll all survive what's going on. One day, the tiger flies again.

Just my opinion.
