The smears are getting tiring. Of course, the dimwit Dumbyassholes will always fall for them, but this time around, the prize is the 30 percent of so independents.

McCain's team is probably thinking that they can scare some of them into voting for him - by raising fears about terrorist attacks (I think it is about time for the "terror alerts" to start again) and also about the "disaster" where a dark-skinned man and his wife occupy the White House. It remains to be seen how far that will work.

And then there's always the rigging at the polls with the electronic machines. They have to count on a little bit of everything - fear, hatred, distractions, cheating... in order to "win" the elections.
