Ted, you're missing the point. No one is disputing the benefits of properly inflated tires.

Why do you think Obama includes NASCAR in his fuel-economy rhetoric? There's already AAA, the National Highway Safety Commission, Consumer Reports, and many many other relevant public agencies.

Inflating tires is one of several measures Obama is suggesting to reduce the consumption of oil in this country. Its indicative of the low mental state of the right that they can't let this one go.

To many people, especially Obama's constituents, NASCAR conjures up images of car crashes, extremely loud engines, burning tires, and exhaust fumes from the thousands of gallons of fuel burned up like there's no tomorrow. All just to see 25 cars go around an oval track.

Interestingly enough, red staters love Nascar. They are the same people who picked Bush as president. Thanks for speaking volumes.

But of course, Obama mentions NASCAR, and all of a sudden the liberal media (such as Keith Olbermann) follows along and pretends that NASCAR is the foremost authority on safe and fuel-efficient driving. Give me a break, as if they had any respect for that "red-state" sport before Lord Obama mentioned it.

Let's see......Nascar is all about cars.....their speed and gas mileage. Yet, you're questioning their authority on the subject? I understand that desperate times breeds desperate measures. But really, ten..........
