Novell provides network infrastructure, it does not provide client applications. In terms of networking Microsoft can not compete with Novell for File, Print, Security, Directory, and Management. These are the services defined by Forrester and the Burton Group as the intranet service model. This is Novells market, not the application and desktop OS market. This is the market where Novell dominates.
