Hi Aerofagia72,

Firstly I meant no disrespect to allevett whose posts I routinely read. No need to shout.

The funny numbers come from bp.com

by clicking on the 2008 Review of world energy which yields this informative pdf bp.com

See page 13 of 48 (11 if you key in the page box.. ).
US daily consumption 2007: 20698 barrels
China daily consumption 2007: 7855 barrels.

10% of 20698 (US) = 2069.8
2069 divided by 7855 (China) times 100 yields 26.35%

So a 10% dip in US consumption equates to about a 26.35% increase in Chinese consumption. I don't see an error but I'm open... I don't mind being wrong, no hubris here.. It's about making money ...

havent seen a better time to buy in ages.... The energy trusts a few years ago come to mind, I was in them before they were sexy and out too early I kept thinking until the Halloween massacre.. . That was a party. I first started buying energy in 1999-2000.. I was in oil when the Economist made the bold and completely erroneous prediction on crude.. That signaled the start of the bull.. That was cheap too..
There was the NG crisis when it seems storage was gonna be full back in 2002... That a was a party too Message 18222880 and the reply post..

In 72.. I was just a crazy kid with a motorcycle fresh outta high school so I have no investing memories of that time Gas could still be bought in Canada then in imperial gallons for about 50 cents per.. :O)

Frankly I've no good feel for O&G here.. I dunno if 150 or 100 is next for crude.. but the disconnect of the stocks from 140+ oil made me very nervous. I've ridden too many waves up and down and that I will not do again.. there will always be another train.. I've seen anger and bewilderment at the disconnect in O&G stocks but no despair..

I'm a big bull on China, India and energy but nothing goes straight up...

Always willing to change my mind..
regards
The Black Swan
