DRILLING IN LABRADOR CONTINUES

Major General Resources Ltd. reports that an error occurred in the Donner Resources Ltd. news release of September 30, 1997 as it appeared in the Stockwatch of October 1, 1997. The error occurred in paragraph 6 where the text states,

"The third anomaly (referred to as the major anomaly) is centered on
Mineral Licence 3342M and is 100% owned by Donner."

The original text of the news release distributed by Donner is the correct version and was reported as follows,

"The third anomaly (referred to as the Major Anomaly) is centered on
Mineral License 2406M and forms part of the Donner/Major General joint
venture."

As the incorrect statement clearly did not derive from the original Donner news release, it is likely the result of a typographical error.

Major General's Mineral Licence 2406M is called the Sarah Lake Property and is optioned to Donner under an agreement which allows that company to earn a 60% interest in the property by completing $1,000,000 in exploration expenditures prior to December 1, 1999. This figure will likely be attained in early 1998. The Sarah Lake Property covers one of the four extremely prominent geophysical anomalies which form the "Core Claims" portion of the Donner/Teck South Voisey Bay Project.

Drilling is expected to continue on the South Voisey Bay Project through to at least the end of October and results will be reported as they become available.
