Solar and wind can only supplement our energy needs. We will continue to depend on fossil fuels until we overcome our fear of nuclear fission and its successor, nuclear fusion.

Of course, with idiots thinking that supercolliders will destroy the world, who knows what kind of nonsense they'll come up with to oppose fusion?
