Re: [As I'm a registered Libertarian of long-standing.] "Anyone can register as anything they want, but if it talks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then maybe it's a duck."
Yeah, so what?
You are gonna have to stop being so cutesy there, GZ, with all that 'duck' stuff and just say what you actually mean to say.
And, as far as knowing what MY political proclivities and beliefs are I'm on extremely SOLID GROUND --- as I have taken any number of detailed and objective tests to delineate my political beliefs, and posted results here very OFTEN.
(Goldie, no doubt, will remember many of the posts, as we've publicly exchanged results from many different tests often.)
I test out (the same on most every objective test I've taken) very UNIFORMLY as:
1) Right in the exact MIDDLE on the left/right Liberal/Conservative scale. (Pretty much the same spot as Goldie....) and,
2) Very close to the TOP on the north/south Libertarian/Authoritarian scale, strongly Libertarian in beliefs. (Pretty much in opposition to Goldie's beliefs there.)
Now, GZ, you are certainly free to slyly allege anything that you want to (hey: it's a mostly free world!) but your words would carry more weight if they were backed-up with some sort of OBJECTIVE TESTING. (And not just airy assertions.)
And, hey! I'd encourage YOU, too to take some of these tests for political beliefs, and then share the results with the thread.
Might be interesting!
(And, hey, there's nothing to be afraid of.... :-)
Links to some tests I believe are very reputable and efficient at outlining political beliefs. (Come-on, GZ, don't be shy!):
1). World's Smallest Political Quiz The ORIGINAL Internet Political Quiz theadvocates.org
The World's Smallest Political Quiz[1] is a 10-question quiz designed as an outreach and educational tool by the libertarian Advocates for Self-Government, created by Marshall Fritz. It places the quiz-taker into one of five categories: Libertarian, Left-Liberal, Centrist, Right-Conservative, or Statist. According to the Advocates, the quiz was primarily designed to be more accurate than the one-dimensional "left-right" or "liberal-conservative" political spectrum by providing a two-dimensional view. The Quiz is composed of two parts: a diagram of a political map; and a series of 10 short questions designed to help viewers quickly place themselves and others on that map. en.wikipedia.org
2). The Political Compass™ politicalcompass.org
There's abundant evidence for the need of it. The old one-dimensional categories of 'right' and 'left', established for the seating arrangement of the French National Assembly of 1789, are overly simplistic for today's complex political landscape. For example, who are the 'conservatives' in today's Russia? Are they the unreconstructed Stalinists, or the reformers who have adopted the right-wing views of conservatives like Margaret Thatcher?
On the standard left-right scale, how do you distinguish leftists like Stalin and Gandhi? It's not sufficient to say that Stalin was simply more left than Gandhi. There are fundamental political differences between them that the old categories on their own can't explain. Similarly, we generally describe social reactionaries as 'right-wingers', yet that leaves left-wing reactionaries like Robert Mugabe and Pol Pot off the hook.
That's about as much as we should tell you for now. After you've responded to the following propositions during the next 3-5 minutes....
3). Political Party MatchMaker 3pc.net
Tired of all those dead-end relationships with the Democrats and the Republicans? Perhaps you'd really like to find the 3rd party candidate of your dreams, but maybe you just don't have the time, or maybe you just hate the whole political meatmarket. With our party matchmaking service all you have to do is answer a few simple questions about what you are looking for in a party, and we'll match you up with several parties who would love to meet a voter just like you....

Come on, GZ --- no need to 'quack like a duck', <G>, it's put up or shut up time.
Now, I can back-up what my beliefs are (right in the exact middle on Liberal/Conservative, and right at the top on Libertarian/Authoritarian)... so let's see what your's are!
Don't be shy!
