There is no good Intel alternative yet for your situation. The Intel G45 boards are still expensive and all of the Intel G35/G33/G31 chipsets are too slow. Some of the Intel motherboards with NVIDIA chipsets are inexpensive, but they don't perform as well as the 780G and 790GX. As the 780G and 790GX 3D performance is what I would consider barely adequate, I wouldn't settle for anything less than 780G/790GX if you insist on staying with integrated graphics.
