8/8/08 update
It was a good week for the Nasdaq Composite Index, which closed Friday down -8.98% YTD (vs. -12.87% YTD a week ago). However, the Nasdaq Biotech Index actually fell back a bit, closing Friday up 8.73% YTD (vs. up 9.11% YTD a week ago). And, unfortunately, the Contest portfolios had a much tougher week, the median closing down -6.85% YTD (vs. down -3.15% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 14 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with still just 6 of the portfolios beating the NBI. Unsurprisingly, GENE's portfolio continued to lead the pack, closing the week with a 98.2% YTD gain. ROBERT's portfolio held on to second place with a 45.0% YTD gain.
Enjoy the weekend biofreaks!
